Since cutting my hair, I’ve developed a new-found love for hair products. I actually USE them! My hairdresser talked me through a few products when she cut it and I have (tried) to follow her advice.
I have become addicted to texturising spray, something I’d never really understood before, and I now know when you find one that works: stick to it. Here are the products I now consider to be my new best friends:

I love this brand. The Texturiza Spray in particular, smells of heavenly holidays. Beach Day Spray, £21, Unite. Texturiza spray, £23, Unite. |
If you can only really afford one thing – make it a texturising spray. Especially if, like me, you have fine hair because it really adds volume and lasts all day. It leaves my hair dry and messy, which is a good thing.

Kiehl’s ‘Silk Groom’, from £18, John Lewis. Batiste dry shampoo, £2.49, Superdrug. Bumble + Bumble ‘Dryspun Finish’ spray, £21.50, Boots |
I have a love/hate relationship with Kiehl’s. It’s just such good stuff but I can never get it out of the bottle! However, this is its only flaw, I was recommended this ‘Silk Groom’ by a hair stylist to add a bit of separation without weighing the hair down or making it greasy. I don’t know how it works as you use the smallest amount but it really does the trick.
Batiste I never really understood but now I can’t live without – perfect for picking my hair up when it feels a bit limp. And it’s so affordable.
Bumble & Bumble’s dryspun finish – this is possibly the holy grail of beachy hair (I’ve heard their seasalt spray is the best, too). This is what I use most days – it leaves my hair stiff and very dry but once you shake your hair into the style you want…it stays. And lasts all day.
Before drying? I tend to use a few smoothing products to keep frizz away (sometimes even oil if my hair is feeling particularly dry – I like Aveda dry remedy as you can use on dry hair). Sassoon’s ‘Smooth Drape’ is great to use on hair before rough drying and then use the ‘Texture Refine’ on the ends of the hair to give texture.
And a frugal find?

Mark Hill Beach Babe Wave Spray, £5.99, Boots |
It may not be the prettiest packaging but it is pretty good. I bought this in between payday and getting my hands on Bumble + Bumble – and it did the trick!
And by the end, you’re sure to look like this….

Can totally recommend V05's texturising spray. So so cheap but so effective. Wouldn't use anything else now!
I haven't tried this – I must! x
Great products

Can I ask where you get your hair cut? Love your new style! Thx
Thank you! I went to Lockonego http://www.lockonego.com/ – it's owned by my friend Ben Cooke, who does hair for my shoots (but I pay!) – it's actually more reasonable than the hairdressers I used to go to, it's on the King's Road x
