Black ripped jeans

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman

I have only recently succumbed to the benefits of black skinny jeans – they’re slimming, go with everything and a little bit smarter than stonewash. This makes them my new BFF. And now I’m on the hunt for the perfect ripped pair.

I’ve always thought they were a bit ‘young’ before but I think there’s a way to style them in a chic way – mainly by pairing them with black and camel.

And at £32, I think I’m in love…

‘Ridley’ jeans, £32, Asos. Slip-on trainers, £75,  Dune

I’ve actually tried out a pair of ‘Ridley’ jeans before, see the post here. They’re super skinny and this pair are high waisted, too (so no unsightly bulges). Oh, and the Dune slip-ons are back in stock, too!

I’m also thinking they’ll go nicely with the Bella Freud sweater I am FINALLY going to get my hands on for my birthday later this month (only 10 years of dreaming):

Love black jeans with skater shoes and black Birkenstocks, a great understated, chic look. I am about to take the grater to my black skinnies x

Good luck! I've never quite managed to be able to do rips myself….

That is going to be such a wonderful pairing – the jeans with the Bella Freud. Can I tell you now, I may just be a little jealous of that particular acquisition!

I know this will make me sound like a 30 year old going on 70, but I still can't bring myself to buy clothes with holes in them already! Love that sweater though.

I know….! I was going to mention this point…I always think it's contrived (a bit like hats) but then other people always look cool in them and I can NEVER do these rips myself…so I've gone with it

I've got with Allen….I though Jane was too comparable with alexa Chung (and I don't want to even try and go there!)…but the Allen has Kate moss link so it's a lose lose situ, I suppose!
