Do It Yourself and save money with this quick and effective way of creating a chalkboard. Chalkboards are perfect for the kitchen, think grocery lists, weekly meal plans and reminders! If you have a home office, they’re excellent for jotting down goals, calls and dates. Maybe you have a nursery, imagine your little ones doodling away or ‘playing school’.
The inspiration behind the DIY project (see below). I especially love the home study with the blue wall and six chalkboards, the contrast of the colours is effective. They’re dark colours but with the white furniture, the room is still airy and light.
My kitchen before… pretty plain, a little dull and this wall is practically screaming out for something creative to be added.
The paint is going on, at this point I’m asking myself “was this a good idea?”…

Almost complete, before the masking tape was removed, still a little nervous. |
The Result! It gives my kitchen a little more wow factor and I’m happy that I decided to create this look instead of buying elsewhere. Keeping things frugal in the house, always!
