*Frugal Buy* – Dorothy Perkins clutch

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
Resin zig zag clutch: £30, Dorothy Perkins.  Monogram candle, £6, Marks & Spencer

I haven’t been into Dorothy Perkins for ages, but recently I’ve been seeing more and more products online that have caught my eye. When I saw this clutch, I knew it was good – part Edie Parker, part Charlotte Olympia – but was dubious on the quality. But in real life, this clutch is pretty similar to its designer counterparts – you can’t really fit much in it, true, but I always end up carrying a second bag for trainers, work diary, huge wallet etc etc anyway. So why not let your ‘chic’ bag be amazing?

This will be your party go-to, trust me. And although I prefer it as a clutch, the detachable straps make it far more versatile. Here’s how I’ll be wearing it this festive season:

Tuxedo blazer: Dagmar (old but buy similar from Topshop here)
Gold-plated ‘pins’ on jacket (coming soon), Astley Clarke
Resin box clutch: £30, Dorothy Perkins
Merino sweater: £79.50, J Crew
‘Slim Phoebe’ jeans: £102 in the sale, MiH at Matches Fashion
Illuminating radiance powder: £50, Eve Lom
‘Cristina’ suede heels: £79, Dune
Express bronzing mousse: £30, James Read at Asos

Wool and feather dress: Topshop (old)
Mules: Office (old)
Geranium and verbena cologne, £44.71, Jo Malone
Bangle, H&M (old)
Red nail polish: £18, buy a selection at Debenhams
Resin box clutch: £30, Dorothy Perkins
Gold-plated ear cuff, £38, Tada & Toy
Camera ready BB water, £29, Smashbox

And on the subject of partywear, those of you that are London-based might be interested to know that there is an Erdem Sample Sale on Monday 9th November (8:30am-8:30pm) and Tuesday 10th November (8:30am-6pm) – discounts between 70% and 85% off the original prices. It will be held at The Music Rooms, 66 South Molton Lane, London, W1K – see you in the queue!

I never go into Dorothy Perkins anymore or shop online, but that clutch is lovely – I've just ordered it oops! Got 10% off too for signing up to their newsletter so that was a bonus 🙂

Me neither! I actually found it because I was trying to diversify for my last post (festive jumpers) as I was thinking I always use the same stores – H&M, Topshop, Asos etc…just goes to show when you look outside your comfort zone, you often find something!

    I love that clutch ❤
I do pop into DP every now and again as I've had some decent stuff from them in the past and it's usually reasonably priced. May have to treat myself to.thIs 🙂 thanx for sharing x
