*Frugal Buy* – Whistles Coat

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
‘Julia’ coat: £100, Whistles (sold out online but buy similar from Asos here). Top: £12.90, Uniqlo. Bag: £32, Topshop. Jeans: £40, Topshop. Trainers: £85, Nike at Asos
For probably the first time in my life, I ran the risk with the Sales – and won. Originally £350 (and still is on Asos!), I still couldn’t afford this coat at £250 – not in seemingly never-ending January. But I also couldn’t stop thinking about it: oversized, warm, navy – it ticked all the timeless boxes – so I went back. I should also mention that I went back to my new favourite sales shop: Harvey Nichols. The mid-range brands such as Whistles, Sandro and Maje had amazing finds – I think because their customer is too busy buying Stella McCartney.
When I returned with credit card in hand, I was thrilled to see the coat had gone down to £100 – and my size left! I’m not saying £100 is cheap or anything but the quality is good and feels great when on – and I’ve got to think about London Fashion Week moving swiftly round the corner.

I also am singing the praises of this Topshop cross-body bag – my saviour. It fits enough of my life inside, but looks chic enough when on the go – suiting my Freelance lifestyle (a bit Proenza looking too).

Satchel, £32, Topshop

I've been lusting over this Whistles coat for a while now – such a great sales bargain! Love how you've dressed it down for an on-the-go look with the Nikes.

I had never seen it before (i don't like to let myself be too tempted by Whistles, generally!) – but so pleased with it! x

Love this coat!! But as it's sold out in the sale I've had to order the bag to compensate! Great finds. Lisax
