Dungarees: £29.99, H&M. Shirt: Margaret Howell (buy similar here). Trainers: £66.99, Adidas at Office |
I don’t know why but I can’t stop thinking about dungarees. I’ve tried them on SO many times but they’ve just not been right. I just look like a child – they’re either cut too tight (and let’s face it, they highlight the gut) or they’re too loose and I look like a hillbilly. But the new H&M campaign just kept calling me…
The black just feels more grown-up and it helps that these fit like a dream…soft denim which smoothes out any unsightly bumps. They’re in-store now for a bargainous £29.99 (I know a few Instagram,/Twitter followers have already purchased!) but I also spotted a few other good ones on my daily perusal (styling tip: a relaxed shirt underneath elevates them no end)…
Denim: £26.99, New Look at Asos |
I mean, OBVIOUSLY, these are the dream scenario. Denim: AG x Alexa Chung, £295, Net A Porter |
Viscose: £50, Next |
These Next ones are a smarter fabric, a bit like the M&S ones I wore here – and a great investment – wear now with a chunky knit underneath and then swap for a white tee or vest when the summer comes.
My trusty Gap chunky knit, worn underneath, keeping me sane in these winter months. Hat: Topshop. Coat: Whistles (sold out but similar from Asos here). Jumper: Gap (sold out but similar here). Dungarees: H&M. Boots: Whistles |

Love the dungarees, I've been checking online daily, but only the larger sizes left.
Yes, H&M online is not so good…there were loads instore when I was there but at first couldn't even find these online…..
I know what you mean about looking like a child…not good! I bought some black ones at the end of last summer from Asos and I love them! They feel fun, but not childish. I hadn't thought of wearing them in cold weather so I may crack them out this week! x
Love the dungarees, I have always thought about purchasing a pair but never have till now maybe. Really like how you have styled them, that coat is amazing too!! x
Unfashionable Sundays
i ADORE mine so so much! And you're right, i've always rather fancied a pair but never found the fit to be right – always felt either pregnant or a bit….masculine? And not in a good way at all!!! I've been wearing mine turned up at the bottom with my jazz shoes and a Liberty print shirt and my fedora. I just LOVE em! So so glad i got them xxxxx
