If there’s one thing we know about A/W trends, it’s that sock boots are in. Literally everyone was wearing them over Copenhagen, Stockholm, New York and London.
And although I’m still not quite confident enough to wear fuchsia ones (yet!), I am falling for the idea of a slim fitting boot under denim or with dresses. And there was something about wearing with this dress that felt ‘right’ and more wintery than the usual dainty shoes I would’ve opted for.

The good (in fact, great) thing about these boots is their heel height. Comfortable with a walkable heel – I don’t mean to sound like a granny here but I just can’t really do stilettos anymore – no matter how much I love the shoes, it’s just a waste of money – so kitten or block heel it is.

I’ve become a bit bolder at wearing full High Street to Fashion Weeks recently – it’s hard when everyone is always wearing head to toe borrowed designer looks but I quite enjoy the look of surprise when I reveal my dress is from M&S or accessories from the High Street. I’m learning to ‘own it’ more and more and some of my favourite looks from streetstylers are those who have to confidence to mix it up.

I had quite a few questions about the bag, which I borrowed for this shoot – it’s a new take on the ‘Kensington’ bag which I already have in the red Chinois print – it’s a great shape and holds just about everything – it’s one of the few bags I carry and don’t need an extra bag – perfect for Fashion Week.

Where did your get your lovely coat? Just what I’m after!
girl you are looking so stylish!!! this boots are really amazing looks! i love the black color, this sockboots are perfect matching for the dress.
also loving the coat, is it last year’s M&S?
I love that you opted for a full high street look – it looks super luxe! I also love the sock boot. I haven’t gotten a pair yet but this is convincing me!

High street makes me happy. It’s just cut well for me the majority of the time. Nothing like a luxe piece mixed in amongst it but far rather rotate my wardrobe more often than spank everything on designer. That said, some pieces that have stood the test of time in my wardrobe and worn brilliantly are simply high street pieces Especially H&M. I did contact them to say they should do a vintage shoot with things people are still rocking over 15 years later xx
Love the boots in the post, so much I wanted to buy them!
Really disappointed when I clicked on the link, the Miss KG boots it takes you too are completely different. Nowhere near as nice and I can’t seem to find anything similar to the ones you’re wearing on the Kurt Geiger website! 🙁 Are they in store only?
Between the black velvet or the black leather Kensington bag – which would you choose???
chic and luxe !!http://intelligently-fashionable.blogspot.com
The dress and the whole look is super nice! I like these boots on you, and it matches your bag so perfectly! Have a great day 😉

Are the boots the same as the ones in the link? They look different. Great look!
yes they are! I agree – hoping they look nicer on?! x
hi Suzanne – no these are the ones! they do look a bit different – the ones i’m wearing had a pearl on the back (maybe I photographed a sample…? I sent them back after this shoot) – let me check with the PR xxx
it kind of depends on what you’re looking for in your wardrobe. I love the tweed black kensington as it’s softer fabric and you can sling it anywhere (I think this is more everyday than the velvet) – but if you don’t have a classic leather black one then it is a good buy x
Yes! I wore a Gap blazer today which I’ve had for years and it looks so good still – and my leopard H&M bomber jacket is still my favourite item in my wardrobe xx
It was from M&S last year – the perfect grey classic coat! And it was £69 I think! x
Thank you so much xxx
Yes! good spot! x
They’re surprisingly easy to wear! xx
I’ve just checked and it is a slightly different boot! Good spot – the boots I’m wearing are called the ‘Scilly’ and are only available instore at the moment – so sorry! xx
Thanks lovely xxx

Agree a great kitten heel is so much better than a stiletto, our feet will thank us later! Love the sock boot concept and thanks for introducing me to it!
You look very great! The dress is only $45? Wow! That boots could complete every outfit. Thank you for sharing!
