When it comes to dinner dates and last minute events, I’m a strong believer in a good shirt. I think of it as an homage to Emanuelle Alt, the chicest women (in my opinion) in fashion. Just throw the shirt on, unbutton it just enough to see a decent amount of skin (I can usually get away with a few unbuttoned without having to worry about showing cleavage), add some gold jewellery and you’re good to go.
Head to toe black is a bit of a fashion cliche, but I’m okay with that. It’s effortlessly chic, and the star print adds a hint of ‘now’ to the style. And I always try and break up the look with a red lip (Smashbox ‘Bing’) and my trustworthy leopard shoes.
This particular star print shirt has already sold out once on Hush, and only just back in stock and it’s not really surprising – at £59 it’s the perfect piece to get you through the holiday season. And it totally fits my ethos of ‘dressy but not’.

Don't suppose you know when the other colorway is to come back in stock? It's like a far more reasonable version of Jaegar's Donna Ida collab!
Obsessed with Hush, such great quality and design – just ordered this shirt, I have the navy version from SS16. love how you've styled this!
I love your blouse. So beautiful.

Hi Alex, what size shirt did you get?
I spoke to Hush and unfortunately the other colourway won't be coming back into stock, sadly x
Thank you so much! Love a star print as my alternative to stripes!
Size 8 (I find Hush is quite generous on sizes) x
Thank you 🙂
Great, thank you!
Thank you so much for checking, super kind. Star print ordered instead! X
I like that blouse.
I realise that this is an old post but currently obsessing about shirts. What do you think about buttoning them right up to the collar. I’m finding the more structured look smarter for work.
Yes! buttoned up to the top is great for a smarter look – very Cos!
