The Little Suede Skirt

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
Top: £14 in the sale, Asos. Suede skirt: £39.99, New Look. Bag: £170, M Hulot. Sunglasses: £20, Toyshades.

I actually didn’t think I could afford a good suede skirt – turns out I was just looking in the wrong place. A recent new-found love for those really affordable stores (I even went into Primark this weekend – and loved it) has got me all excited. I’ve been in new Look twice this week (for work) and have been so surprised. This real suede skirt is £39.99 and just as good as the Topshop ones I’ve been eyeing up.

Sandals: £25, Asos (almost sold out but buy similar here).
Top: £14 in the sale, Asos (and probably been my most worn item so far this summer)

 I just love summer.  The simplicity of putting on only two items of clothing (sometimes just the one!) and you’re done. And you can get away with some more cheaper items, generally. But I’ll be wearing this skirt with an oversized cashmere jumper come winter (I’m loving Beaumont Organic’s jumpers – yes, already planning my A/W outfits!).

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

    Love it! I had a black suede skirt similar from New Look back in the late 90s – it was one of my most favorite items of clothing ever!

      I can't believe the tip is in the sale, in almost every size – I love mine! x

    Ahhh I'm certain you hear this all of the time, but you're killing my bank balance! As soon as you mentioned envisioning the skirt with a sweater, I was sold (don't hate me, but I must be the only person in Los Angeles who can't wait for summer to end…)! Would you mind sharing the sizes you got for both the top and the skirt? We're similar in size (tho I'd kill for your legs), but I'm unfamiliar with New Look and ASOS sizing can be wonky. Thank you!!

    Aaah, yes I do get told that all the time – sorry! But at least they're not super high end…the top is a size UK 8 and the skirt is a size 10 (I hate skirts to be tight around the waist) x
