The versatile knit: Weekend style

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
Coat: Zara. Cashmere top: Iris + Ink at The Outnet. Jeans: MiH Jeans. Shoes: Manolo Blahnik

This top works just as well with jeans, no? I love the combination of navy blue and black, very French and very chic. And a boyfriend jean adds a dressed down element to the heels.

WEAR AT THE WEEKEND (team with)

‘Brady’ jeans, now £15 in the sale, Asos

New Balance, £55, Topshop
Faux leather bomber, £58, Topshop
Tracksuit bottoms, £32, Topshop

It does work very well indeed – reminds me to get my old black and white stripe jumper out! Thank you!

Such a nice outift, I've actually ordered a jumper from H&M that looks a bit similar to the one you're wearing.

I love H+M, hands down my favourite shop. There's a pair of dungarees I currently have my eye on – might look good with the stripe jumper?

It's lovely on YOU. I find it near impossible to wear high heels when I'm out with my kids. Sandy playgrounds, muddy parks and manual handling pushchairs on crowded tube stairs means ugly sensible shoes are the order of the day *sigh*!

Oh my goodness, me too. These Manolos are so beautiful but they rarely get an outing (sob!) – I always end up in my slip-on trainers!

I love this outfit and especially the boyfriend jeans with high heels. As it's coming up to that time of year, I am thinking of investing in a good pair of boyfriend jeans, so do you think the MiH ones are worth the money? Also are the Phoebe slim ones similar to yours and how does the sizing go as I've read they come up small. Many thanks!!

Hi, I LOVE my MiH jeans and 3 years on they look great and I still get so many compliments…these are the 'London Boy' which I don't think they do anymore…I'd say the Phoebe are the closest equivalent and the turn up is very 'now'. I haven't tried the Phoebe but my 'boy' ones come up big, I am wearing a 26 and they are comfy not too tight (whereas I usually go for a 27/28 in skinny jeans).
