‘My Bed’ – Tracey Emin |
You all know about my love for the Tate Britain – one of London’s best free days out. And excitingly, Tracey Emin’s controversial Turner Prize exhibition piece ‘My Bed’ is back at the Pimlico gallery along with some other pieces by Emin and Frances Bacon – in a room curated by Emin herself.
Having never seen ‘My Bed’, I was beyond thrilled to see it so intimately – you can really get up close to it – and the story is so fascinating as it is really an evolving piece of Art – it has to be redone every time so it never looks exactly the same…

This exhibition is free at Tate Britain until June 2016, and then ‘My Bed’ will tour the country going to Turner Contemporary, Margate (Emin’s hometown) and then to Tate Liverpool.
Definitely, in my opinion, worth a visit (if only to see it and have an opinion!). But then, I love The Tate on any day.

Officially inspired, when the kids are back at school I am going to the Tate, I haven't been for so long and need to see some of my namesakes art so I can have some educated answer when people laugh at my name 😉 x
They have some amazing Frances bacon! I love the triptych that is usually always there personally…and yes, good idea to go after Easter holidays!
I didn't realise this was now being displayed at Tate Britain! How exciting, I will be heading there very soon! 🙂 x

So exciting to have a piece of British history back where it belongs x
It's great to have it back and free at Tate after 15 years. It creates such an interesting dialogue with some of the other (FREE!) works in the collection such as Gormleys bed made out of toast (the Atkin dieter's nightmare) or the painting of Chatterton in his 18th century equivelent of Emin's bed.

P.S love the shoes
Loved reading your post -very informative, clever lady xx
I always enjoy your London tipps so much and keep these for my next visit in May!
Also love your mix of affordable high street brands with some unique pieces. Something most women women can relate to so much more than to all-designer-looks.
