Outfit Post: Blackout

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman

Coat: Asos (sold out but buy similar, oversized coats here). Cashmere v-neck: £79.90, Uniqlo (mens). Leather leggings, £129, Marks + Spencer. Trainers: £85, Nike at Asos. Backpack: Topshop (sold out but buy similar at Asos here)

Possibly my new favourite item in my wardrobe: my menswear Uniqlo black v-neck cashmere. I haven’t worn v-necks for a long time but in black, it feels a little more open and less ‘stuffy’ to have a bit of skin on show. And the menswear cut on this means the V is not too low – something always in my criteria (being pretty much flat-chested means my bra always ends up on show). More importantly, it fits with my monochrome brief at the moment.

I’m also hoping these Nike Air Max Thea trainers are going to help me whizz around town much more easily – I feel much more of a spring in my step!

And I know, I’m in need of some sort of new hair regime. My friends at Sassoon have been helping me grown out my blonde but it’s still in need of some TLC now the winter is really kicking in. No amount of Aveda Dry Remedy hair oil is saving my dull, dry hair right now. So that’s where my January wage will be going…New year, new me, and all that.

Great look, I am living in leather leggings 😉
I just had a new haircut and I am doing at home treatments for dry hair with olive oil from time to time (requires 3 times shampooing afterwards).
I am so in love with your NIKE trainers, they are comfortable and chic for the city. Just booked my flight for February, can't wait to go back to my favourite city!

Oh wow – yes, thinking maybe a good idea to do a tried and tested dry hair thing…it's terrible in the winter time! x

Annoyingly, the men's jumpers are more expensive than the women's…but worth it! x

Totally with you on the neutrals! I launched a wee app created to help shoppers buy clothes in colours that make them look great and not waste time on clothes that don't. It's called Colour Elements and it looks like you are a combination of the air spectrum and the fire spectrum. The neutrals in these spectrums are largely navy, grey and camel. If you'd like a promotional code to try out the app please send your email details. Best, Karen
