Outfit Post: Topshop surfer skirt

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban at Zalando. Sweater: £39.50, J Crew. Skirt: £34, Topshop. Shoes: £95.20, Boden
How do you wear a palm print skirt, now? Okay, I cheated because it was sunny…but just pair with your favourite sweater or cashmere with brogues (tights too) and you’re good to go.

I am obsessed with Boden’s high-shine silver brogues, at the moment. They’ll go with everything I own this summer:

Reduced to £95.20, Boden
Or I’ll be wearing my slide on trainers for a relaxed look for the summer. A few people asked about my blue leopard trainers from Gap – they’re sold out but Kurt Geiger have started doing them in the blue:

‘Laurel’ trainers, £95, Kurt Geiger
Or, Office are doing a cheaper leopard pair:

Slip-on trainers, £20, Office
Palm print too much? I am also loving this skirt from Next, only £30 (and much easier to wear in the winter, too):

Skirt, £30, Next

Loving your brogues Alex….I'm still sat on the fence about the slip ons (just not sure they're me) but am getting more & more tempted by the leopard print ones!!

The office ones are at least cheap so if you're not sure, a safe bet. Laura has the black ponyskin slip ons from Gap – they're very chic…

    Just adore this…

Alex, you always have the most perfect, subtle tan. Could you recommend your favourite self tan? I have my engagement party coming up and feel nervous at the prospect of unleashing my pasty pale legs on a unsuspecting world!

How funny! I actually did a post on fake tan receently as you can go so wrong! I really like St Tropez everyday body (I use the face one too) – and Clarins is still a favourite – just make sure you rub it in really well, let it really sink in rather than sit on your skin. Plus…don't forget I was in Barbados last month so did catch a few of the sun's actual rays there!

      Thanks, Alex.

I'd love to opt for Barbados, but may have to settle for St Tropez… in a bottle.

Love the brogues! I must admit to being weary of Boden though, I think it's all the years of johnny boden emails, and the fact my Mum shopped there! However I know they've upped their game recently. I biought some brogues from there a couple of years back. Must dig them out.

Did you buy the MiH Phoebe's? (I'm pretty sure it was you) I ordered some today, did you size down? I'm unsure about the wash I decided on I ordered Grover, but now I'm wishing I'd ordered remain!

I must admit, the flowery lining of my Boden's is not my fave but you can't see it once they're on – someone asked me if they were Martin Margiela, today!
I haven't bought the Phoebe's yet…but I really want to – and I love the Grover wash, makes them stand out. Gap have actually done some fab raw edge ones I was looking at today – maybe I'll get them whilst I'm saving for the MiHs….

Love those silver brogues, they look fab with the grey sweater and cute skirt. I have finally jumped on the slip-on bandwagon (a little late as I thought my feet looked too big in them!) but I am fully embracing them and cannot stop wearing them, I love the versatility and they will look great in the summer with skirts, shorts etc so next on my list the Kurt Geiger ones x
