Style Buy: Coloured Faux Fur

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
Coat: Zara. Faux fur stole: Helen Moore. Shirt: Gap. Trousers: H+M. Bag: Atterley Road. Shoes: Penelope Chilvers

I am obsessed with my new navy faux fur stole, I am not exaggerating when I say it has transformed my wardrobe. So many people have asked me where it’s from and it has turned my winter wardrobe into something so much chicer. I wear mine everyday as a scarf and it has given all my old coats a new lease of life, too. This is from Helen Moore, all excellent quality faux fur (I was actually worried in New York that someone might throw paint on me it looks so real!) and handmade in the UK.
Black makes a good investment buy, but this season it is all about the coloured fur…
The key is to wear it nonchalantly. I love them styled with a casual day outfit, as below. But they would work equally with a cocktail dress at a dinner.

I spotted Fashion journalist Olivia Phillips (and blogger at New Favourite Thing) out on press days in her River Island version
Small Tippet scarves, £35, Helen Moore. Large ‘vixen’ scarves, £68 each, Helen Moore.

Multicoloured, £40, Asos
Pink, £60, River Island
Orange, £28, Topshop

I absolutely love your navy stole Alex, just stunning. I have to admit to having developed a HUGE weakness for fur stoles this season & the black/blue one I brought from H&M in their Paris Collection is so useful as it comes with straps for your arms so it stays in place even when wearing a blazer.

I am loving them…I have heard that Helen Moore are making bright coloured ones for next spring, and already lusting after one!

I love how you've made faux feel and look luxurious. A great stand against the evil and cruel fur trade. Why have animals suffer when you can look so chic in faux?
    Great look! xx

And it's cheaper!!! I love the look of fur, but faux fur can look just as cool.

I've been mulling over whether to buy one this season. There is a pale pink topshop one which is quite lovely too but it doesn't really go with any of my coats. I need a versatile one that I can wear with a bright yellow coat, a grey coat, a purple coat and a navy trench! 😮 Perhaps I need more than one!! x

Sounds like you might…! Navy works for me as most of my coats are black or grey…but at least the High Street have finally cottoned onto this so you could potentially get a few!
