All I want for Christmas…

Life - By Alexandra Stedman

…are some copper pans.

But I never actually thought I could afford them. It’s always been a bit of a ‘collect them all’ situation and I’m too impatient to ask for one a year. But last week, I spotted some in Lidl for £24.99 and now it’s all I can think about.

Pans £24.99 – £29.99, Lidl

Previously, all my pans have come from TK Maxx, and I have a fab metal one from Le Creuset (via Cheshire Oaks) so it’s not like I need any new pans (well, maybe one) but a matching set makes me happy. Plus, as someone in the fashion industry whom has been told on numerous counts that they’re very ‘hard to buy for’, it’s good to have a backup plan. I might be venturing back…

Copper base saucepans, from £35, Marks & Spencer

Copper butter saucepan, £15, Marks & Spencer

Copper 5 piece set, £199, West Elm
Copper cookware, from £60, John Lewis

I think Sainsburys also have a range of copper pots and casseroles at the moment for bargain prices. Steph x

No problem! I saw them in ES magazine at the weekend so I don't know what in store stock levels are like. Happy pan hunting!

Oh I saw some in Aldi as well. They looked lovely. We do have some of the Mauviel ones and they are certainly an investment. When we had more disposable, we would treat ourselves to a new one each year – only downside is polishing them up which I have to admit is a long overdue job which I've not done for quite some time!

Upkeep is such a pain – did not even think about the polishing…it's like every single piece of clothing I've bought from Cos that has to be dry cleaned ;(

Yep Sainsburys normally have them in the sales after Xmas I picked up a few last year- although now they're so pretty I can't bear to use them!

Good to know! And yes, I agree…but them just sitting there looking pretty is half the reason I want them!

I have some gorgeous LSA tumblers but can't put them in the dishwasher and I must admit, I always think twice before using them!

Don't waste your money on these pans. they work for a few weeks, but after that you'll be using more and more oil to keep food from sticking. Eventually even the oil won't help. One of the worst kitchen utensils I ever bought.
