Jewellery brands that should be on your radar….

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
From top: Gold and diamond bracelet, QVC. Initialled bracelet: Minetta at Etsy. Gold-plated bracelet: AB Handmade

As you all know, I am partial to a bit of fine jewellery. And although I love the usual suspects: Monica Vinader, Astley Clarke, Carolina Bucci, I like even more to surprise people with my jewels (see my post on the H Samuel ‘Love’ ring here).

QVC

So this is my new guilty pleasure…once I learnt that you can actually BUY ONLINE and not have to buy through the TV, I was sold. It may not have the kudos of Monica Vinader but they really have some gorgeous pieces.

Rose-gold jewelled ring, £33, Diamonique at QVC
Trying on the A/W collection…the middle ring has my name on it!

AB HANDMADE

Rose gold bracelet, AB Handmade

I just love the story behind this brand, father and daughter duo (Alba the designer and Antonio the craftsman), designed in London and hand-made in Spain – with plenty of love. Stocked online or in select boutiques in London.

NIKKI STARK

9ct rose-gold skinny midi ring, £25, Nikki Stark

I love layered jewellery, and Nikki Stark’s pieces are quietly stunning – I love these layered skinny rings and have my eye on the baguette rings…

£75, Nikki Stark

BOTICCA

A marketplace website for emerging talent, this is somewhere you can really find an original piece.

Ring, £96.50, Jung Ee Eun at Boticca

I’m always looking for individual pieces for my fashion shoots, and my favourites from here are Jung Ee Eun and Michelle Oh.

ETSY

Obviously I love a scroll through Etsy…and its jewellery is by no means less interesting. I stumbled upon Minetta at their S/S Press day and loved the simple concept – hand stamped letters on beautifully fine chains. Affordable too – it’d make great gifts.

14ct gold initialled bracelets, £26, Minetta at Etsy

And what have I been wearing religiously, lately? H Samuel’s 9ct gold sleeper hoops…
I haven’t worn earrings for years (apart from the occasional statement piece), but the recent rebellion for ear piercings got the better of me. I got a second hole pierced at the Boticca Press Day and then re pierced my original holes – it feels modern and I somehow feel (even if I don’t look) younger.

Small 9ct gold hoops earrings, £29.99, H Samuel

It had absolutely nothing to do with seeing Sienna Miller killing it in the Red Carpet with her Astley Clarke diamond hoops….ahem

Rose gold mini diamond hoops, £795, Astley Clarke

Pendants were certainly ubiquitous, adorning and accentuating rockabilly clothing fashions. Some common styles included cute cartoon-y pictures
