…And I’m wearing monochrome. Figures.
It really is one of those gorgeous times of the year that you wake and appreciate the city for its beauty and not for the rush hour grind that it can be sometimes.
And blossom just makes for the perfect backdrop, does it not?

Last week, it was boiling – warmer than LA – now that’s a first. So of course, like a true Brit I wore shorts. But white broderie anglaise ones which are enough to get you fully into summer mode – however, wear with black and it will bring it up to date for spring.

And closed- toe shoes and leather bag will keep the look smart (and no one is ready for my un-pedicured feet just yet!).
I’ve already mentioned that white accessories will be big this season, so I’m giving this ‘Austin’ bag from Kate Spade a whirl. I’m a sucker for practical bags (who isn’t?!) – it’s a great size for work and weekend and I love the statement it makes in pure white – it just feels more adjusted to warmer climes.

And we don’t really need to discuss the earrings, do we?! Okay I’m stopping now, these are the last pair. But just imagine on a balmy evening with a cream linen dress…clearly I’ve already planned my summer outings, too (and they come in other colours, too). But for now, I love how they ‘jooj’ up my classic shirt.

May it forever be eternally spring, and here’s hoping this isn’t the last time we’ll be seeing shorts on the blog. One can dream!
So pretty!

Nice look but here in south west London we’re wearing sweaters and padded coats!
I know – but I have to plan ahead! This was actually shot during the surprise heatwave we had….so it was warm, luckily!
Monochrome is always great and an easy go to when you want a quick decent outfit! I’m noticing Sezane pop up everywhere at the moment.
Ok, I really need a new pair of statement earrings! It looks so good on you, and goes very well with this outfit. Love it!

Would love to know where you get this cream linen dress?! I am on the hunt for one that is midi, loose and sleeve-less. 🙂
I’m also currently wearing the northern cobbler sneakers you suggested previously via IG. Great shoes to transition to sandals!
Alex,
I love this outfit, but can I ask how you keep your white handbags, white, please? I have given up on any light coloured handbags as they seem to get grimy looking after a few outings…..
Thank-you!
Lovely spring photos! That Kate Spade bag is great for the season too 🙂

do you know what, this is my first light bag, so I’ll have to keep you posted….! x
Look in And Other Stories – I have a cream one from years ago that they re-issue every summer – it’s perfect! Oh yes, wore my Northern Cobbler trainers yesterday – they are so great and the quality lasts xx
Hey Alex, love this outfit ❤️ I’m looking for a similar style bag for holiday but something a little smaller than would still fit my Olympus pen, have you got any suggestions? x
I’d take a look at J Crew if budget allows…? Their ‘Signet’ bag is a really great size (one of the few cross body small bags which actually fits my wallet inside!) xx
Thanks Alex, we are road tripping through France and Spain to Portugal camping so it may be a little too ‘posh’ for a camping trip but I’m definitely going to check it out x
GORGEOUS, Alex! I love those borderie shorts on you (what knockout legs you have!), and obviously those earrings are just amazing.
Briony xx
YOU LOOK REALLY SEXY IN THOSE SHORTS! I often love your outfit choices, but sometimes (nothing wrong with it) they’re quite safe… I hope you don’t mind me saying, that it’s really refreshing to see a classy take on having your pins out. Your legs are killer and seeing you flaunt them in this outfit choice is beautiful xxxx
Thank you!! I am often safe because I’m usually running around for work and my wardrobe reflects that (my life isn’t very glamorous!)- but totally agree it’s nice to mix it up sometimes! xxx
I loved your style a lot you are so pretty Alexandra.
