This outfit includes a few firsts for me: flares, for one – I have just never got on with them. Probably due to the fact I have to wear heels with them (anything that always requires heels is not a good buy in my opinion), I also have memories of a pair of Miss sixty jeans at university caked in mud at the bottom where I dragged the flares through hell and back over my Converse.
The next is a poloneck, I just feel claustrophic in them. And then there’s the pointy boot and flare situation – I don’t know why, it just scares me – a witchy heel poking out from under a bell bottom.
But today, people, I am embracing all of this. And it feels okay. The poloneck is cashmere, and loose – crushing all my fears. The jeans are £29.99 from H&M, so it doesn’t matter if I don’t wear them everyday (but they do require a heel). The MiH Marrakesh once again, slipped through my frugal fingers (although they are on sale at the moment, here). And the witchy boots? Well, they’re Tabitha Simmons so I’ll just get over it.
Oh, and did we mention the bag? Suede, fringed and affordable – the perfect Spring purchase. I spotted it in the Red fashion cupboard before Christmas and stalked it until it came into store.

On wet, windy days, what better weather to take out a fringed bag, I say!
