5 dresses you’ll live in this summer

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
If ever there’s a fail-safe wardrobe winner, the summer dress is it. I’ve found myself buying more and more dresses lately as they’re just so easy. Slip on a pair of flat sandals, your favourite sunnies, a denim jacket and you’re good to go.
1.
Smock dress, £45, And Other Stories

I have this is in cream and so excited to bring it out – it’s double-lined so not see-through and: it has pockets. There are only a few sizes left, though so hurry…
Or you could get this, instead.

Cotton dress, £65, And Other Stories

Equally as chic (and a bit like my Isabel Marant one from Vestiaire, regular readers might remember – I just squeaked with joy at the memory of it somewhere with my summer clothes at my parent’s house). It too, has pockets.

2.
Dress, £25, Next
Look,
I’m not sponsored by Next or anything, I just really like a lot of
things there at the moment. I’m (almost) tempted by a pair of denim dungarees
in there, too…
But
anyway, this dress is amazing. A flirty drop waist, teamed with a loose
fit which makes you look slimmer than you are, plus a bit of a Gucci
Cruise print going on: I love it. For those that just don’t ‘do’ yellow:
it comes in black, too.
3.
Dress, £39.99, Mango
Okay so WITBlog
found it first…but I bought this last week and, if you’re planning on
going away this summer, you should probably buy it, too. Just add a
straw trilby and Birkenstocks.

4.

Navy dress, £85, Whistles

If you’re not a fan of shoulders and bare decolletage…then I apologise now. But spaghetti straps and off shoulder tops/dresses are a thing. Not only is this probably the only dress you’ll ever find in Whistles for under £100, it’s also the coolest. This shot is styled to perfection: take note.

5.

Jersey dress, £59, Cos

Ever the minimalist, I love this dress for so many reasons: it will go with everything, it will hide a multitude of sins and it’s not actually denim – it’s jersey. The ultimate city-break dress – it won’t crease and will look great with trainers.

Do it! It is fabulous – and Halle Berry wore it on a chat show – which means it's not just for the beach!

I loved the top as well – and if they made skirts from the same fabric and with the same pattern, I'd probably want them too!

I have the first Other Stories one in black and it's lovely. I was very tempted to go and get the cream one as well to keep it company. And susceptible as ever, I very nearly bought the Mango one after seeing it on your Instagram feed … I might still get it yet.

Love all your dress suggestions, and I've just bought the Next (but in navy) wore it for the first time today and have had 3 compliments already! I salute you and your fantastic style and blog! xx
