Postcards from Japan

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman

We had the best holiday of our lives in Japan on our honeymoon. The country is so diverse, the people are so nice….how can you not have a great time? Oh, and it’s cheap too (contrary to rumours)…Here are a few snapshots of our two weeks:

Amami Islands, 2 hours by plane from Tokyo
Fushimi Inari, Kyoto
Arashiyama, Kyoto
The Golden Pavilion, Kyoto
Takayama
Strawberry shaved ice
Nagano
Hida beef – the best beef we’ve ever tasted
Crossing in Kyoto

Matsumoto, Kusama’s hometown
Shinjuku, Tokyo
Photobooth fun in Akihabara, Tokyo
Conveyor belt sushi, Harajuku, Tokyo
Crossing in Shibuya, Tokyo
Tsukiji fishmarket, Tokyo
Hello Kitty

Thank you! Funnily enough, there was a place to rest your camera for remote control photos – it was set up in front of this sign, perfectly!

We so wanted to go on honeymoon to Japan! But thought we couldn't afford it. (And, when we would have been booking flights etc., I wasn't definitely allowed time off work, so it would have been madness).

    This looks AMAZING.

Congratulations! Hope you are finding it as wonderful being married as we are.

I'm currently debating whether a July honeymoon to Japan is just going to be too hot and humid but had recollection that you'd gone in the summer, and am immensely reassured by this post. Love your blog by the way!

I'm not going to lie, it was so hot! But you just adjust after a while – I don't regret going in July….better than June as that's the rainiest season..x
