True Love…

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
Ballerina lace-up flats, £45, Next. Rose: Bloom & Wild

Happy V Day everyone! Myself not being a soppy romantic type (we’ve bought the M&S Dine in for £20 ready meals for our Saturday night), I thought I’d dedicate this post to a more meaningful relationship: my love affair with shoes. You may have noticed I spend most of my disposable income on footwear – but it’s never with regret – they can truly make an outfit.

Step into the spotlight, Next ‘Ghillie’ ballerinas. I know they’re similar to the New Look flats (see the post here) but with a slight twist. They’re pretty much completely lace-up rather than structured at the back – and this season is pretty much all about the lace-up flat. My advice would be to snap these up pronto – they’ll go with EVERYTHING.

How To Wear Them NOW (or at least in a few month’s time)

1. Cashmere poloneck, £199, Boden

2. ‘Hayden’ ripped boyfriend jeans, £42, Topshop

3. Cat Eye sunglasses, £35, Le Specs

4. Cotton shirt, £40, Atterley Road

5. Leather cross-body bag, £175, MARC by Marc Jacobs at Net a Porter

6. Denim skirt, £29.99, H&M

Shoes: £45, Next. Rose: Bloom & Wild. Candle: £38, Bella Freud at Harvey Nichols

They are fab Alex – in my basket right now! Hope you had a lovely Valentines evening in – the M&S meal looked amazing but we've no oven at the moment so had to treat ourselves to a take away instead! x

I had such a lovely Valentines, although I have caught what seems to be another cold! Staying in is much more my thing these days, going out fills me with dread – hope you had a good takeaway! x

I wonder if they are comfy? Bought a similar pair from Zara last summer but they literally killed my feet…
    They are so gorgeous though!

The thing about Next shoes is that they have that spongy sole in the bottom (not sexy but very comfy) – so their shoes are always pretty good! I wonder about the edge as they are quite narrow but they seem fine for me so far! x
