3 ways to style up your white shirt this season

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
Shirt: £80, Gant. Tuxedo jacket: Dagmar (old but bur similar from Topshop here). Skirt: £60, Asos. Heels: £79, Dune

The white shirt: the most useful item in your wardrobe. And an outfit maker I swear by, it’s all very easy to put with jeans on the weekend but I thought I’d show you a few ways to ‘jazz up’ your shirt for a few more wow outfits.

Dress code: CHRISTMAS PARTY

A classic white shirt is a good investment (this one from Gant‘s Diamond G Collection is the perfect button down and holds its shape nicely, see my last post here) and is one of my favourite items to dress down an evening outfit – oh, and I found a more affordable alternative to the Whistles fringed skirt – but I would size up as it’s quite snug!

Shirt: £80, Gant. Tuxedo jacket: Dagmar (old but bur similar from Topshop here). Skirt: £60, Asos. Heels: £79, Dune

LOOK 2: Smart Casual

Coat: Whistles (old but have found this amazing one from Asos for £42.50). Shirt: £80, Gant. Jumper: £80, Hush. Skirt: £40, Next. Trainers: £66.99, Adidas

To be honest, I’m not entirely sure what ‘smart casual’ means. I think it’s actually no trainers but to me, this look sums up smart casual – layered, smart but with a modern twist. And just a little side note, I saw the Whistles PR team after taking this photo and they all wanted to buy this skirt…

LOOK 3: Work to Party

Shirt: £80, Gant. Faux fur stole: Helen Moore (old). Dungarees: H&M (old but buy similar from Asos here). Heels: LK Bennett (but they have walkable, glittery heels here)

If in doubt, just add some faux fur and glitter. I love to add a bit of fun to an outfit with accessories – and it means you can wear something old underneath. These dungarees are the best thing I bought this year and the shirt gives them a smarter edge – let the accessories do the rest.
