Double trouble…

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
Shirt: £55, French Connection. Jeans: £29.99, H&M. Belt: £8, Asos. Shoes: £49.99, Zara. Bag: Sezane (sold out but buy similar here). Bangle: £59, Skagen. Photographs: Christopher O’Donnell

I remember a 3.1 Phillip Lim look from the shows, probably about 4 years ago with a patchwork denim shirt and it it still, to this day, one of my favourite looks. So I knew when I saw this shirt, I wanted to try and emulate this look. It’s funny how sometimes a look can still feel modern a few years on, double denim has been a round for so long it’s (almost) part of our everyday vernacular, and mix with a flash of red? Perfect.

I wasn’t sure when I first ordered these shoes from Zara, they were darker red than i thought and a bit ‘lady’ but now it is officially love. They make everything look fresh and actually the deep red looks more luxey (I was even asked if they were Valentino on Instagram!). They’re a little bit ‘Dorothy’ but I’m okay with that…

French Connection is one of those stores, a bit like Karen Millen or Warehouse, that I just haven’t been in much lately. It’s more my fault, I get stuck in a rut only shopping in the same 3 stores (Asos, H&M and Topshop) and even get a bit lazy.  So I thought I’d try something new (and in fact, Warehouse has a whole new look and I want everything on their site at the mo), FC have some great coats for winter and this shirt is definitely on the more affordable end of the range.

Oh yeah, I’m now wearing belts again. It feels right to be cinched in a bit, and this Asos one is great for £8.

Love your fabulous outfit! You can never go wrong with denims, Love your top and jeans combination. Not to mention your red shoe which added a twist of color to your outfit. Something that I would like to wear when I finish and submit my college essay papers requirements to my professors.
