Stylish Stockholm weekends

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
Cashmere jumper: £75, Marks and Spencer. Denim culottes: £55, And Other Stories. Bag: £108, J Crew.  Sandals: £35.99 Mango . Sunglasses: £6.99, Lindex

Just a quick few photos today, no big city guide for me. It had been a long week and I needed a little downtime in the city. I went to Stockholm with Scandi brand Lindex (a super affordable brand I knew little about, but now it’s definitely on my radar!) and I tagged on an extra night – my husband was supposed to meet me out here but he got booked for a job so I had a night and day on my own. And I must admit, it was quite nice to be somewhere outside of London without my daily routine and to-do list.

Stockholm in springtime is beautiful, and it has given me a taste for Copenhagen in just over a week (we got £29 return flights which I can’t stop talking about!). I have to be honest, I didn’t do much with my spare time – but ate some Swedish meatballs, enjoyed some Fika and did a bit of interiors shopping but that’s not to say my time was wasted at all. In fact, it was perfect.

I packed a black, white and leopard theme for this trip (see my latest Packing guide here) – the ideal minimalist Swedish palette. It worked well and just made life that little bit easier.

Practising skills I learnt at my photography course!
Cafe culture is huge here, and it seemed the whole city was outside for lunch on the Friday – my favourite spot Cafe Riche didn’t have any outside seating so I headed to the Diplomat hotel for meatballs and people watching (all served on Instagram ready marble tables, of course).

This was every bit as delicious as it looked and frugal note: I didn’t need dinner
Shopping-wise, I didn’t need any clothes so headed to a few of my favourite Scandi stores (as first discovered in Gothenburg): Lagerhaus and Granit. Concrete planters, marble dishes, copper wire trays – I was devastated I was hand luggage only.
Lagerhaus – you must go if in Sweden
I stayed at the Miss Clara hotel through Mr & Mrs Smith, which I have been dreaming about ever since I spotted it on some super chic instagram feeds. It was converted from an old school (Miss Clara is the name of the Head mistress) and the interiors are everything you expect from a chic, cool Scandinavian boutique Hotel – all deep brown marble and leather armchairs with monochrome touches. It’s definitely a treat – more Boutique budget, but if only for a night it’s worth it – super chic and stylish, amazing staff and the breakfast itself is worth the cost alone.

Wondering around the city, I walked to Stureplan to the food market and to Urban Deli for my coffee (a bit like Whole Foods – all organic and healthy). It’s such a walkable city and you can see most things this way – a good walk is across the islands, which I did last time I was here – through Gamla Stan the old town, with lovely coffee shops and cute stores.

The Scandi vibes don’t finish here, next week we’ll be off to Copenhagen – be sure to send me some tips!

Everything looks photogenic! Sorry if it's obvious but I can't see a tag for the leopard print jacket?

No, not obvious at all, it's H&M but I didn't credit it as it's really old (like 3 years – but still my fave!) x
