Interior Tips from H&M Home’s Head of Design (because she knows her stuff)

Life - By Alexandra Stedman

We all know my love for H&M Home: it’s Scandi, affordable and (mostly) grey.

I asked Evalina Kravaev Soderberg (above), H&M Home’s Head of Design (and one of the chicest people I have ever met), on her 5 must-have A/W pieces from the collection that can transform a room…

1. CUSHION COVERS

Especially in rich colours, such as petrol blue and forest green – these look great when mixed together. It’s all about the “fancy” cushion.

Velvet cushion cover, £6.99, H&M

2. THROWS

These give texture to the room…

Knitted throw, £39.99, H&M

3. CANDLE HOLDERS AND TEALIGHTS

To give an atmosphere to the room…

Candle, £4.99, H&M

Tealight holder, £1.99, H&M

4. VASES AND POTS

It’s time to bring the greenery inside your home…It’s not just about 1 or 2 vases, because of the price you can group them together and make your plants and flowers more impactful.

Marble effect pot, £9.99, H&M
Glass vase, £6.99, H&M
5.  A CLOCHE

Use this to keep your favourite things in – “I’ve put vintage letters of my childrens’ names in mine”. You can change what’s inside to meet your tastes and they change…

Cloche, £12.99, H&M
And when I asked Evalina about her main source of inspiration? Like most of us, she replied “travelling and the internet…I love Pinterest”. Glad I’m not the only one.

They're something i've always seen in vintage-y homes shops like Caravan (and I can never justify the £40 pricetag) – so excited they've become more mainstream!
