Postcards from J Crew 14.04.16

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
Shirt: J Crew (instore). Skirt: £98, J Crew. Sandals: J Crew (instore). All photographs: Ella Sadika

I had such a wonderful evening at the J Crew Sloane Street store event on Wednesday – it’s safe to say it was a success (if only for the stripey top and sunglasses I managed to purchase!).

I have to say I have really amazing readers and it was so lovely shopping with everyone and talking all things fashion and style. I hope everyone enjoyed the evening.

My mum bought these gorgeous sandals!

The lovely team at Bobbi Brown did my makeup for the evening, and I’m wearing my most J Crew lippy – ‘Bright Poppy’. I went for a gingham shirt – the print of the season – I love it dressed up with a skirt but equally, I’d wear it on the beach with denim shorts and a bikini.
Chiara from Lamplighter London was on hand to draw calligraphy letters for guests to take away on the evening – she is uber talented (she even makes her own neon ink to get the perfect hue) and her book, Nib and Ink, is fab, it makes a great gift.

Here’s a little video my husband made via Lucky No 13:

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, it is SO much more fun shopping in a big group (with a nice discount!), let’s hope there are more to come…

Me and J Crew have a long history. Of course that was when my mum would pay for my shopping. Now it's a toss-up between paying the water bill and a new pair of shoes! x

Cat and I loved catching up with you and Nicky and loads of other wonderful ladies and having a good old shop (still loving the navy blazer with stand up collar..next month it will be mine!) great evening, brilliant hosting, thank you xxxx

Fran, lovely blog. I'm wondering which J Crew stripe top you got? I'm thinking of getting the stripe top with the frill sleeves, I'm a generous size UK 8, do you know which J Crew sizing this is? Also which sunglasses did you decide to get?

Haha – don't worry at all re: name – I do it all the time! So I am a size 8-10 and I got the XXS – it's very boxy so better to keep it close to your frame…..x
