The bomber brigade

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
Jacket: £44.99, New Look (sold out).  Skirt: Marks & Spencer (old but buy similar from Zara here). Bag: And Other Stories (bought instore). Photographs: Ella Sadika
And just like that, this jacket has sold out. Sometimes the High Street are on SUCH good form that the buzz is created before it even hits the stores, which was what happened with this amazing jacket.
But I think it says a lot about the High Street right now, the stores are creating such great pieces (this jacket, in particular, is really good quality) as a reaction to our needs. The Dorothy Perkins dress is a great example, too, proving something I’ve believed all along – you really don’t need to spend a fortune to dress well, or be on trend.
Still, I took these photos last week so I might as well use them…and hopefully you can still be inspired on some styling ideas.  I was thinking about new ways to wear a bomber, as they’re so huge this season and a great in-between coat style. Those who got their hands on the Bershka bomber too, make sure you keep hold of it. But do they work with anything other than jeans? I’m giving it a go in that Gucci-wear-everything-at-once kind of thing: and I think it works.
Trainers: £44.99, Converse
Top: £42.53, Madewell.
The stripe top was a purchase from Brooklyn.  One of my only purchases in NYC, it was a last minute stop on our back to check out of our Air BnB and I love the grandad style of it with the front buttons. It is also just the right amount of slouch I want from a breton. Plus the girl in the store told me she read my blog which made me feel slightly cool. Someone working in NYC, in Madewell, in Brooklyn, Williamsburg, knows my blog. It may be just one person but I was thrilled (hello, if you’re reading!).

You are so right – It is true that the high street really is responding to our needs and desires! It's so easy to recreate the look you want, but the best part is that you're not always compromising on quality. Some of the high street things I've bought recently are such amazing quality and I'm so happy with that!

I love how you've paige this AMAZING bomber with the metallic! It really does work super amazingly!
