Boden Icons Launch

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman
Dress: £250, Boden Icons. Heels: £109, Boden. Photographs: Christopher O’Donnell
Boden make good clothes, always, we know this. But every so often they make REALLY good clothes, in the form of Boden Icons – a little bit more expensive but elevated in every other way – quality, fabrics, attention to detail. Take this dress, for instance – the scallop hem, the embroidery – it really is special.
The second instalment of Boden Icons has landed and, in my opinion, is the best yet. The shapes and details feel really modern and are that little bit more directional (there is a ruffled floral chiffon blouse that sounds like it really shouldn’t work but it really, really does).

Dress: Boden Icons. Heels: £109, Boden.
This dress is the ideal weddings/ summer occasion wear dress, I just love a dress with sleeves – and fluted sleeves? Even better for this season’s trends. My bet is that this dress looks just as good with lace-up ballet flats, too.
And you’ll be rest assured the likelihood of seeing someone else in these are slim, as this more luxe range is also Limited Edition – so you’d better act fast.

Dress: £250, Boden Icons
And for my next trick? Enter the white midi length front split skirt. I loved the navy and red version of this last season and this fresh update might just be my new wardrobe saviour. I’ve dressed it down with a classic Boden stripe breton (I haven’t yet figured out what sartorial problem a breton doesn’t solve) and these fab lace-up suede heels – when in Paris, eh?

Top: £19.60, Boden. Skirt: Boden Icons. Heels: £119, Boden

I think this is what has been missing from my wardrobe. The front split borders on risque, but on the right side of chic still, whilst the pockets bring it back to a more casual feel – which obviously, I adore.

I’ll probably take this to Nerja with me in the summer and wear with a black vest and lace-up gladiator sandals, and think it’ll look fab with an oversized knit come autumn.

This post was in collaboration with Boden, but we were going to Paris anyway…

You look gorgeous in both outfits Alex but if I had to choose a favourite piece it would have to be the skirt. Loving the idea of it teamed with a chunky knit come the cooler weather.

Love all the ICONS this year – the printed silks are all heavenly. I've just ordered the military-stripe trousers though – couldn't resist! x

You look like a knockout!! The shoes are particularly amazing… Question – you look super tanned in these pics, is it a filter, have you been somewhere nice, or did you find a great spray tan?! Any natural colour I get from holiday never seems to last, so contemplating exploring the world of spray tans..

Thank you!! So this was shot shortly after my work trips to Barbados and St Lucia (I know, v lucky!) – but, my legs stay quite brown all year so I have to fake tan my body to match! I use james Read overnight tan on my face – it is really subtle but works wonders! Put it on overnight, but it goes on clear so no marks on your pillow. And then Bondi Sands is a good everyday affordable tan too. Otherwise I love Decleor xx
