Tropical Interiors

Fashion - By Alexandra Stedman

It’s that time of year when the weather is heating up (or supposed to be), and my lack of outside space (read: none) makes me dream of tropical spaces and rooms filled with foliage, bringing the outside in. Obviously, I love a cactus as much as the next lady but bringing green in through colour is ticking even more boxes for me, currently. It is kind of ironic, really, that my great grandmother would never allow anything green inside her house due to superstition!
Through Laura from WITBlog‘s green tablescapes (yes, that is a word) to Erica Davies’ recent house renovations, I’m moving more and more towards colour, finally. And the great thing about green is it’s pretty much a neutral (you can tell I work in fashion) – it seems to fit seamlessly into my already grey home. I even chose a green marble coffee table for our living room over the classic white (which I based around the ones from Modern Society store on instagram):
Coffee table: £300, Out There interiors. Sofa: £395, Habitat. Grey velvet cushion cover: £6.99, H&M Home
Personalised stationery, from £1.49 each, Papier
Modern Society store on Redchurch Street, London (just the right amount of green)
One of my favourite florists: Grace & Thorn, whose motto is ‘Green Up Your Gaff’
Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings, East London

Journal: £15, Oh Deer. Geranium leaf body balm: £25, Aesop. Coasters: H&M Home. Gold-plated cheese-plant earrings: Alexis Dove
