See you on the other side…

Parenting - By Alexandra Stedman

Shirt: £80, Sezane. Sports bra: £29.50 for 2, Marks & Spencer. Cashmere joggers: Duffy. Photographs: Christopher O’Donnell.

So this is it. I’m excited to be embarking on a whole new adventure very soon…and this is me signing off for a while.

I’m sure most of you have noticed that pregnancy hasn’t been easy for me, I found the intense sickness at the beginning REALLY hard and the constant social media opinions possibly even harder but now I’m here, I’m looking back with fond memories and now thinking I will miss this bump, my companion for the last 40 weeks….

I wanted to say a sincere THANK YOU all for always sending words of encouragement over the entire pregnancy, it really has been a wonderful community and something I have really found helpful and inspiring. And it has given me a newfound love of the blog and internet community.

Things I will miss:

Thick, easy to manage hair, clear skin, Chris always bringing me a tea and toast in the mornings, slowing down and working less. Really hoping some of these things will be something I can take onboard with my new role (!).

Things I won’t:

Everyone only ever wanting to talk about my bump, the constant colds, backache, insomnia, the ill-fitting trouser situation.

But the main feeling here is excitement. We cannot wait to meet this extra person that will be with us permanently!

I will keep everyone updated via Instagram and Facebook on any news, and this post here explains my plans for the blog going forward.

So, I’ll see you on the other side, I suppose!

Alex xxx

Everyone says it, but when you are caught up in trying to get everything “right” or even just trying to make it through the day with a new born, make sure you take the time to just enjoy and cherish it. Everyone will have an opinion but just do you three as a family the triangle is the strongest shape. Your followers will be here when you are ready to come back x

So excited for you both! Looking forward to hearing news of the new arrival. You will be fantastic parents. The only piece of advice that I can pass on (cringe) is to always trust your instincts. I hated other people’s advice but that one, I have to say, stayed with me because it is so true. You will be the one who knows your baby best! Good luck, Alex! Xx

Just enjoy it. It’s knackering having a newborn but it’s all great. Ignore any other requests on your time. Suit yourself and Chris and baby only. Take all the help when it’s offered. Best of luck and see you when we see you again x

Very good wishes to your and your family from a long time reader. It’s hard enough to weather the barrage of opinions surrounding pregnancy and beyond, I can’t imagine how it must be throwing thousands of social media followers into the mix! but I think you’ve managed it with a lot of grace 🙂 Good luck for the next few months and looking forward to catching up with your posts whenever you feel ready.
