We all know the best way to really shop the sales and save money is to avoid them. But that’s just no fun, is it?!
The reality of it is, I’m actually shopping for bathrooms and kitchens via the Christmas sales this year. But they don’t look nearly as pretty in a collage as clothing. And just because I’m not buying anything doesn’t mean I can’t look…

And my tips?
Only buy what you saw full price (which was why this post was relatively easy for me, I literally searched what I was eyeing up last week).
Look for items you couldn’t afford before – cashmere, coats or leather bags.
Stick to items you get a lot of wear out of: jewellery, leopard and stripes are never bad investments, in my opinion.
Buy classics that you won’t hide in a cupboard and years later accept you were ‘caught up in the moment’.
Try and buy a few items that will take you through the next season: sunglasses for example, or a kaftan (I love this one from Whistles).
More classic stores (especially interiors) feature the same items year after year, so it’s worth just holding out until the sales start – i.e The White Company bed linen or Magnet kitchens.

Hey Alex. Happy Christmas!
I’m on the hunt for some everyday jeans. Any recommendations for something I can wear through to spring? Mainly with trainers/hightop?
Thanks xx
Hi Katy, I am loving the vintage wash straight leg jeans from Gap – they’re really modern, no stretch – ‘proper’ jeans and slightly cropped so look great with high tops and flats (in my velvet jacket post) xxx
Thanks Alex. They are sold out 🙁 anything similar? Xx
Sorry, I have those and the Asos ones, they have probably sold out as I have been mentioning them loads – sorry! x
I love some good money saving advice. Clothing is so expensive these days and these tips will really allow you to rein those expenses in. I love that jacket too…I want to invest in something similar.
No worries! Will continue the search ?
Hi Alex, we’re after a new bathroom too. Can I ask what stockists you’d recommend? In London. Thanks
Hi Alex, I have to admit I do most online as I’m always so specific with what I want! I used mainly victorian Plumbing for my last one and it was great and not too pricey, and Topps great for tiles – grey grout so good for keeping clean and not showing mould (!) xx
Lovely, thank you and a happy 2017. Love the blog x
On my list?! Khaki jacket! Bagged and thank you, Xx
