I am thrilled to be featured in this month’s issue of Red – out now. It’s the bumper December issue, which means the Christmas giftguide as well as party dressing and the best time of year for recipes and homes. Having worked on the Christmas Giftguides at Red myself, I know what a mammoth task it is, so very proud of my friend Alexandra Lunt who also styled all of us for the feature (including Paula Reed, Creative Director of MyTheresa.com and Laura and Petro from Wardrobe Icons).
It’s always nerve-wracking when someone comes round to ‘style’ you. I get a bit panicked in a similar way to the hairdressers when the guy with the frosted tips mohawk says ‘trust me’. But as soon as the clothes arrived in my flat, I knew I was in safe hands.
All of my favourite brands were name-checked – Self portrait, Etre Cecile, Equipment, and I loved everything on the rail. For once, I didn’t have to worry too much about price-point – the point of the shoot was just to look nice and have fun!
I fell in love with these Rochas heels, and was pleased to see the Mary-Jane style of my Marni heels I recently bought were still in fashion!

Styling up dream outfits by myself (total Blogger mode) |
I’d worked with the make-up artist Bethany Rich before, who really gets my style – I liked to look done but never too done. I fake tanned the night before (using James Read – it’s the best) wore Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser as my base as it feels light but with great coverage. And it was Beth that introduced me to Kiehl’s Silk Groom to keep my dry ends moisturised without looking oily – now I am never without a bottle.
The theme of the shoot was ‘My Christmas Day Style’ and I think this captured it perfectly – relaxed and undone but with a hint of something fabulous. I am rarely seen out of jeans these days but these have an element of fun to them. This shot was taken in our living room, which is so lovely and homely around Christmas time – and this little nook is gorgeous to sit in with a magazine, cup of tea and a blanket in cold evenings.

Very random qu…but struggling to find bookshelves with 'sides' for our alcoves and see you have them. Did you have them made? X
Hi Lulucinda, wish I could help but they came with the flat!!! Gosh, I suppose you really don't appreciate these things when you move in – I think the last residents were DIY whizzes as most things were handmade from wood (including a bit of an oversized toilet roll holder, which, frankly, was the first thing to go!) x
Wow! there is a perfect combination. Thanks your share! My wife is also fashionista. I will introduce with her – your posts. To hope you will have many unique articles anymore!
