Blazer: £110, Next. Tee: £20, J Crew (bought instore but the stripe versions are here). Skirt: H&M (old). Bag: £125, Cambridge Satchel Company. Trainers: £62, Adidas Stan Smith at Asos. Photographs: Christopher O’Donnell |
It’s true. I’ll put anything with a trainer. But I particularly love the pairing of something sporty with something floaty (and especially floral). Ideally, I’d be copying the Chloe catwalk and wearing this skirt with a zip up sports jacket but I’m yet to find one that’s truly flattering. But I feel the trainers give this outfit a more modern approach than a classic pair of flat sandals.
I got this Next blazer ages ago, right at the beginning of the season – my All Saints one (of 10 years) finally kicked the bucket so I needed an upgrade. And Cameron Russell in the Ad campaign sold it to me. At £110 it’s definitely more of the higher end of Next but certainly not Stella prices – it’s fully lined and fits amazingly, I love the longer line of it.
You might have noticed my hair is gradually getting lighter…I’m in the process of going grey (both naturally and with bleach!) – but it turns out you can’t really just die your hair white grey, it needs to go blonder and whiter and then go through a lot of toner – so it’s a longer process than I thought – we’ll see if I can commit. But blonde for summer is always good for me, anyway.

Hi! I love the t-shirt, what size did you get? I was just wondering if it fits true to size?
These painter tees are so great!I actually have the XS (when I would usually go for the S) but they're great and quite a sturdy fabric so don't 'cling' x
Amazing blog Alex, love your style so much, you're brilliant at putting clothes together that I wouldn't have even considered. On the off chance I locate this skirt, what size did you go for as I'm a similar size to you? Thanks x
Thank you! Means a lot. I went for a size 10, which I always am in H&M x
I love the boy-meets-girl vibe of this outfit! x
